MLEC Seeks Nominations for Community Award

 

Do you know an organization or business that has made outstanding contributions to the local community?

 

Mille Lacs Energy Cooperative (MLEC) is seeking nominations for the Touchstone Energy® Community Award which recognizes businesses and non-profit and community groups that have shown a strong commitment to the community. Any who have helped make the MLEC service area a better place to live and work are eligible for the award. The recognition comes with a $250 cash prize, to be donated to a community service project of choice.

 

Community members may nominate a group, association or business by completing an application form, available at Mille Lacs Energy Cooperative, PO Box 230, Aitkin, MN 56431 or by clicking here . Questions may be directed to Linda Weimer, Member Service Manager at 927-8242 or 888-724-9640.

 

The nomination will require a description of the project, program or event and the positive impact it brought to the community. Completed nominations must be received at Mille Lacs Energy’s office by November 1, 2007.

 

The award winner will automatically be placed in contention for the statewide Touchstone Energy ® Award which has a cash prize of $1,000. The statewide award winner will be recognized at the Minnesota Cooperative Energy Forum in 2008.

 

The Minnesota Touchstone Energy ® cooperatives are part of a national alliance of more than 600 rural electric cooperatives that adhere to the values of integrity, accountability, innovation and commitment to community.
