E-mail Alert (April 2011)- Watch out for scam emails. It has been reported that there has been the theft of email addresses from an advertising company which is used by several large companies, such as Chase, Citi, US Bank, Best Buy, etc.. For your Internet safety, never share your personal IDs, passwords, social security number, PINs or account numbers via email.
Please note:
E-mails have been circulating that look like they have been sent from MLEC with the subject "A new settings file for [your address] has just been released" or "Your mailbox has been deactivated." MLEC does NOT send out these types of email. Do NOT answer the email or download anything from it. DELETE the email. It is a type of spam/phishing.
Always remember:
• Do not click the link in any suspicious message. Any update issued for Microsoft Office, including Outlook, are available directly on the Microsoft Web site at www.windowsupdate.com.
• Never enter your personal information, such as passwords, on a Web site that you open directly from a message.
• Do not click attachments or links in e-mail messages unless you completely trust the source of the message.
Please note:
An email is being sent to some email users with the subject "Dear Webmail User". The email asks for your user name and password. This email is not from Mille Lacs Energy. MLEC does NOT send this type of email. DO NOT REPLY. DELETE THE EMAIL. This appears to be a scam.
