Connecting to MLEC
- In compliance with Mille Lacs Energy Cooperative’s (MLEC) adopted rules relating to cogeneration and small power production, MLEC is obligated to interconnect with and purchase electricity from cogenerators and small power producers, who satisfy the conditions as a qualifying facility.
- All interconnections require an application and approval to become a qualifying facility.
- MLEC is obligated to provide information, free of charge, to all interested members upon request, regarding rates and interconnection requirements. Interested members should contact MLEC at PO Box 230, Aitkin, MN, 56431, or call (218) 927-2191 or (800) 450-2191.
- Any dispute over interconnections, sales, and purchases is subject to resolution by the MLEC Board of Directors.
- MLEC complies with the interconnection process for distributed energy resources ordered by the State of Minnesota Public Utilities Commission; in compliance with Minnesota Statute 216B.1611, and follows the Cooperative Minnesota Distribution Energy Resources Interconnection Process, (C-MIP).
