It’s that time of year again!
Mille Lacs Energy Cooperative is taking applications for the annual Electric Cooperative Youth Tour in Washington, D.C.
If you’re unfamiliar with this opportunity, please check out www.mlecmn.net for more details. Applicants must be juniors in high school and dependents of parents/guardians who are members of Mille Lacs Energy Cooperative.
This year’s Youth Tour will take place June 16-21, 2025. Delegates will spend their time touring monuments, visiting museums, meeting with elected officials, learning about the cooperative business model, and getting to know young leaders from all over Minnesota and 43 other states!
The best part? It’s FREE for delegates! MLEC pays for all transportation, admissions fees, and other expenses. The program is coordinated and facilitated by the Minnesota Rural Electric Association (MREA) and the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA).
New this year! Trip winners will also receive a $1,000 scholarship from Mille Lacs Energy Cooperative.
Past delegates agree that attending the Youth Tour is a great opportunity to see our nation’s capital and meet new people from all walks of life. Now that you’re interested, please see our website for more information and contact Kassie Peterson at (218) 927-8243 with any additional questions.
Remember, the final day to submit your application is February 27th. Don’t let this opportunity of a lifetime pass you by!
